You Think It's A Schwinn?!
02 January 2010 @ 08:17 pm
OH HAY 2009.

Believe it or not, I'm going to try to watch 100 movies this year. Yes, I didn't exactly reach my goal last year, but I got really close! And I now know the wonders of the Netflix Instant Watch program, so, if I play my cards right, maybe I'll finish out this year with more than 100.

Also, I'm going to post more movie reviews this year, so yay for that.

Up is pretty much a perfect movie. I keep trying to find some fault in the film and I can't. Fried gold from start to finish, and as much as I hate to complain about Wall-E (just kidding, I love complaining about Wall-E), Up's big final action scene could kick Wall-E's finale's ass any day of the week.

I just finished watching The Brothers Grimm, against all better judgment. What's up with the accents in that movie? And pretty much everything else in that movie? I don't even know why I bother with Gilliam anymore; I should just concentrate on Fear and Loathing, Brazil, and the Python movies, and forget about all the rest.

Saw Star Trek yesterday and loved it. Pretty much the Iron Man of the summer for me: fun, a little flawed, with a great cast that makes me want a sequel immediately. Even if you know nothing about the original series, I really recommend you see this.

Is it bad that I'm a little tempted to start a ship war for the new movie? I mean, it is obvious that Spock/Uhura should be everyone's OTP and anyone who ships Kirk/Uhura is a terrible person.

And hey, the season finale of LOST is this week! Is it just me, or does it seem too soon for this season to end? I feel like not a lot of stuff happened. I guess after the sheer badassery of S4, anything that comes after it seems as bad as the Bai Ling episode.* The finale will probably be spectacular, though; LOST always seems to save the best for last.

*Nothing is as bad as the Bai Ling episode.

Can't sleep. Posting on LJ because why not. Typing like Rorschach for no reason.

I'm watching Unwrapped on Food Network. I feel like I could watch every episode of this show five times and never really learn anything. This show seems to really like telling me EXACTLY how much sugar it takes to make EXACTLY some amount of M&Ms, which just brings out the little anti-consumerist hippie in me.

Did anyone watch The Unusuals? I liked it. It's weird how much I love Harold Perrineau when you consider how much I hate Michael (OH I HATE MICHAEL SO MUCH). This show is going to get cancelled after six episodes, but I hope it keeps bringing the lolz until then.
